What to Expect

We've developed this online resource and application to guide you and make the process of getting a loan more convenient. Here's how it works:

1. You'll answer a series of questions that will assist you in completing our online application.

The application will provide us with information about your loan request, your finances and other general information needed for us to make a credit decision. The application process should take about 20 minutes to complete. As soon as you submit your application, an Adirondack Bank Lending Representative will review your request and will contact you to introduce themself and answer any questions you may have. Your Lending Representative is assigned to you to provide guidance and assistance from application to the closing. If your loan transaction involves the purchase of real estate, we may ask you for contact information on the Broker or Seller to allow us to contact them directly for your added convenience.

2. Important documents and disclosures.

Upon submission of your online application, you will receive from us an application package containing papers you must review and sign as well as a list of various items we will need for verification of information provided on your online application.
Next, we will arrange for an appraisal from a licensed appraiser who is familiar with home values in the subject property area. The appraiser will schedule a time to review the property. This requires an inspection of both the interior and exterior of the subject property.
Title Insurance will be required. If you are purchasing a home, we will work with the Broker or Seller to insure the title work is ordered as soon as possible. If you are refinancing, we will take care of ordering the title work for you. The title insurance policy will allow us to determine the legal status of the subject property and complete documents necessary for closing.

3. Coordinating the closing.

After we receive your application package containing application verification items and signed disclosures, the appraisal, and the title work we will contact you to schedule a closing date for your loan. If you are purchasing a home, we will also make all necessary arrangements with the Broker or Seller.
The closing will take place at Adirondack Bank or other arranged and agreed to location. A few days prior to closing our Legal Department will contact you to discuss the closing process and review any needed information for the closing.
We realize that for most families real estate transactions are often the single largest financial commitment you'll experience in your lifetime. Allow us to guide you and ease your concerns. We have a team of experienced and dedicated professionals ready to help.
